So you ended up with few plots and looking to harvest? However you are not sure if things are good and you would like to make sure you have some chance to get some rewards, then you are the right place!
GUI status
By looking at the “Last attempted proof” you can check if you are in the game, your proof are being checked. Don’t worry if you you get 0/$total_plots_you_have – it’s normal. When “Proof found” is larger then 0 then this is your lucky hour or lucky year depending on how many plots you have :D.

As you can see from the above, you are doing fine, your plots are being checked on a regular basis. Happy Farming! One thing though, make sure the Time is lower than 5 sec, some people were seeing more than 30 sec in there in case accessing the plots over the network. If the Time value is large others on the network will be faster claiming their proof and you will be left out.
I checked my log file and I’ve got 81 plots and it says zero are eligible for farming what should I do?
Actually it’s normal, out of the X number of plots you have there is no that can solve the current challenge. Most of the times it’s all zeros.

Let’s say I only have a few peers connected but ports are open, no other machine interrupts network traffic and also I’m getting stable response times (2-3 eligible token and max few seconds for checking) and no challenge is skipped (0-63). Is this fine or what are the odds to lose a challenge due to low peer connections?

To be perfectly honest the farming log was taken from a git bug report, it was not mine. It was easier than opening a session to my farmer machine :). This is the the PR: https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/issues/2651
However it does not tell much. If you have NFS there are a few things you can do:
– Make sure you are close to the NAS, least amount of hops (routes in the path)
– Use 1Gbit network if you can – not because you would saturate the 100Mbit link but newer devices tend to have HW NAT and all sorts of other accelerations that can help
– If you are on Windows try SMB v3, it’s way faster than v1, v2
– Make sure your disk wont spin down/go to sleep
In your case, as far as I am aware it’s perfectly fine. At least this is what I get too. 🙂
